As a new full-time faculty or staff member, enrollment in your Penn State benefits is done electronically through
ESSIC. You will need your Penn State Access Account ID (ex: abc6) as well as
your password to access ESSIC.

If you wish to add a dependent to your existing University coverage, you will need to use
ESSIC to make those changes. Please note that dependents must be added within
31 days from the date that they became eligible for coverage under your plan. No additions can be made beyond that 31 day period
other than during the Time to Choose annual open enrollment period.

ESSIC allows full-time faculty and staff to view and to update their benefits,
personal and payroll information. Important employee information, such as the home address and number of tax exemptions can be
changed through ESSIC.

If you are participating in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), you may view your account balance and review individual claim
payments through ESSIC.
