Each holiday established by the University is intended to give an employee the benefit of eight hours of paid time off. [See also HR-88 for other than twelve (12) month appointments.]
The following days are established as holidays for 2008.
- New Year's Day -- January 1
- Memorial Day -- May 26
- Independence Day -- July 4
- Labor Day -- September 1
- Thanksgiving Day -- November 27
- December Holidays -- December 24, 25, 26, 29, 30, 31
PLEASE NOTE: Friday, January 2, 2009, is not a University holiday. Employees who are off that day will charge vacation or personal holiday, if Friday is a normally scheduled work day. Anyone who chooses to work on Friday will be permitted to do so, however, temperature conditions in the work area may be less than ideal.
