Welcome to the Penn State Compensation Website.
The intent of the Compensation site is to provide a resource for employees in order to gain an understanding of how staff employees are compensated at Penn State. Currently, there are two staff compensation programs in use at Penn State. The first is the Staff Position Evaluation and Compensation Plan (SPEC) in use at the University since 1992. The second is the Competencies for Job Classification Program program which was implemented in 2004. Over the next few years, all jobs at Penn State will be transitioned into the Competencies program and the SPEC Program will be phased out.
