Welcome

As the coordinator of Penn State’s Opportunity Network for Employment (ONE) Program, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our Web site. The ONE Program is a collaboration between Penn State’s Office of Human Resources and agencies such as the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, The Arc of Centre County, Skills of Central PA, and local school districts. My role is to assist qualified individuals with a disability who are seeking employment at Penn State’s University Park campus by:

  • Conducting an informational intake interview to learn about an individual’s skills and employment interests and to review eligibility criteria for participation in the ONE Program.
  • Guiding individuals with disabilities through the application process.
  • Seeking employment opportunities for qualified individuals with disabilities who, with or without a reasonable accommodation, can perform the essential functions of the job. Participation in the program, however, does not guarantee employment.
  • Providing reasonable accommodations for known functional limitations during the application and interview process.

I also work with local rehabilitation providers and school district personnel to coordinate a Vocational Mentoring Day, which gives local high school students with a disability an opportunity to spend a day on campus job shadowing a Penn State faculty or staff member whose career matches a student’s vocational goals.

Please contact me for additional information about the ONE Program or to schedule a time to meet with me. I look forward to working with you.

Sincerely,

Marianne Karwacki
