RecruitmentStaff Assistant Training ProgramThe Staff Assistant Training Program is designed to provide an eight week training opportunity for Pennsylvania diverse business school students during summer months at University Park campus. The Program provides students with professional work experience related to their career goals. This Program also provides an opportunity to impact the University's commitment to a diverse workforce by increasing the representation of minority staff members. Professional Entry Program ("PEP") The Professional Entry Program was started in 1985. The objective of the Program is to provide graduates from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds with professional work experience related to their career goals. The Program is designed to provide employment opportunities for students who typically would have academic preparation, but little or no work experience. The individual could gain experience in a trainee position and, after completion of the trainee program, compete for full-time, regular positions within the University. (Assignments vary from 18 months to 3 years). The Program enables the trainee to:
The Diversity Talent Bank began in 1985 as a repository of professional vitae with the purpose of increasing the pool of potential applicants from diverse cultural backgrounds for consideration in all employment categories. The Diversity Talent Bank Program is responsive to the need of work units to practice affirmative action when under-utilization exists. The Bank is in data base form which allows the Employment Division to track applicants as they are referred and employed by the University. The Office of Human Resources supports a full-time recruiter dedicated to establishing linkages and networks with communities and organizations with diverse cultural constituencies for the purpose of identifying and increasing the number of potential applicants.
