Welcome!
The Dual Career Employment Assistance Program
is designed to assist the partners of newly recruited or recently
hired full-time faculty and staff in their search for employment and
relocation to Penn State.
This site will provide you with information
about the community; contacts for locating housing; links to job search
sites; helpful information about CV and resume preparation; interviewing
advice and tips; information on child care and elder care in the community;
a link to International Scholars and Visa Services and other valuable
resources at Penn State and in the Centre Region.
About the Program
Penn State recognizes that outstanding hires
often have outstanding partners who can contribute their talents to
the University or to other employers in the local community, as opportunities
arise.
Penn State is supportive of dual career partners
and established a Dual Career Program based in the Office of Human
Resources in 1987. Hundreds of dual career couples have benefited
from the services the Program offers.
Program Services
Services are available at any point of the
recruitment process, and eligible participants can receive assistance
for approximately one year after moving here or until they begin working,
whichever comes first. However, the program is not one of job placement
and does not guarantee employment.
The program services include information,
orientation, and assistance on such things as:
