Disclaimer
The following job specifications have been listed with the university's Employment and Compensation Division. Specifications include the official SPEC job title, job code number, grade, eeo code, exemption, and a list of general functions of the job, as well as the minimum degree of education and work-related experience required to be hired into the job.

It should be understood that a job grade is determined by analysis of the individual Position Information Questionnaire (PIQ) duties and responsibilities, in comparison with similar jobs, and the value of the ten compensatory factors (that are listed in the PIQ), and it is possible for jobs in several grades to have highly similar areas (but different levels) of responsibility. Therefore the list of typical functions should not be viewed as an indicator of the grade. (Since SPECS are written to include multiple positions, they do not include certain information such as: to whom the position reports, whom the position supervises, budget figures, etc. which might affect any of the ten compensatory factors and therefore the grade of the job.)

It is also important to note that these functions are typical, but are not meant to serve as an individual's position description. This individual desk or bench job description lists detailed duties and responsibilities for a particular, individual position and should be maintained in your immediate work area for use during training, performance evaluations, planning, and in advertising, interviewing, and hiring should the position become vacant. See your supervisor or human resources representative for a copy of your working job description or PIQ.
